A Quick Guide to NEET MS/MD 2023

Do you want to know about NEET MS/MD 2023?

This blog has answers to your question. We will try to make you aware of the Postgraduate (PG) courses which you can pursue after the UG MBBS course. After MBBS, the candidate can go for MS or MD courses according to his chosen specialization. Here is concise but genuine information for you all to comprehend the meaning of courses.

What is MS?

Neet MS/MD 2023

The Master of Surgery(MS) is a three-year postgraduate degree made for candidates who want to have advanced knowledge and skills in surgical training. All the scientific knowledge required to become a surgeon in their chosen specialization is provided through this programmed. Studying for an MS degree involves studying various conditions as well as researching and analyzing techniques for correctly diagnosing and treating them. In India, an MBBS degree is required for admission to an MS programmed, NEET MS/MD 2023

MS programmed offers the following specializations to study in:

  • ENT (Ears, nose, and throat)

  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology

  • Orthopaedics

  • General Surgery

  • Ophthalmology

  • Otorhinolaryngology

  • Traumatology & Surgery

What is MD?

Doctor of Medicine also known as MD is a postgraduate medical course that is pursued after the undergraduate MBBS program that is a 3-year PG course. There are many specializations in PG courses one may opt for.

To take admission to the MD program, one must clear NEET PG 2023 Exam conducted all over the country with the qualifying marks as per the cut-offs. However, many institutes/universities conduct their entrance exams to admit students to this postgraduate program. It is much more challenging to get into a Government Institute as the cut-off remains high as compared to a private institution. Thus, securing a seat in government requires consistent effort.

MD program offers the following specializations to candidates:

  • Anaesthesiology

  • Anatomy

  • Biochemistry

  • Biophysics

  • Community Medicine

  • Dermatology and Venereology

  • Forensic Medicine and Toxicology

  • Laboratory Medicine

  • Medicine

  • Microbiology

  • Nuclear Medicine

  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology

  • Ophthalmology

  • Pathology

  • Paediatrics

  • Pharmacology

  • Physiology

  • Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR)

  • Psychiatry

  • Radio-Diagnosis

  • Radiotherapy

Hence, both courses have great importance in a doctor’s life. Anyone with one of these degrees is qualified to work in healthcare centers and can even practice in their established private clinics as a physician or specialist.

Commencement of Counselling

To be announced

Lots of rumours are circulating these days that the counselling would start in the months of May and June but this is actually a rumour only as there is no chance of counselling to be commenced soon. As per the previous assumptions only, the counselling is likely to be started in mid-July.

According to Gaurav Tyagi (the director and expert counsellor of Career Xpert), one more rumour is airing that only one counselling will be done for All India as well as State Quota Counselling but this is impossible as both counsellings cannot be held together. He also stated that NEET 2023 aspirants are expecting the revised cut-off will be reduced by 25 percentile but we should not rely on this information. The aspirants can expect the cut-off to be reduced by 15-20 percentile only and not more than this. He also advised to decide the branch specialization with proper analysis of pros and cons of courses before the counselling.

Note: Do not rely on fake sources as they will just mislead you to much extent. Make a habit of visiting official website mcc.nic.in regularly for the latest updates or notifications.

Specialization after MBBS in India

Some of the aspirants after MBBS start practising medicine but others choose to specialise in a particular specialisation.
There is robust competition in the medical industry. Future after MBBS is uncertain until a candidate completes a Post Graduate degree in his specialization. The requirement for well-trained doctors is increasing day by day with the population. Hence, MBBS aspirants pursue specialization and super-specialization.
During the completion period of MBBS, one becomes puzzled about his future career. At this point, you must consider the speciality to pursue. It can be a challenging choice as you have over 60 specialities and over 30 subspecialties to consider after MBBS.

Candidates often get puzzled in post MBBS diploma courses. India has the highest number of doctors produced globally.  But after MBBS when it comes to specialization the seats available are even less than half as compared to the number of MBBS seats.

Healthcare is one crucial sector that is rapidly expanding thus bringing in a huge requirement for specialists. Researching for the right course for your successful future is mandatory. Courses like MD, MS, PG Diploma, and DNB are part of postgraduate medical education for various specializations. The curriculum of the postgraduate medical degrees includes-

•         Theoretical knowledge
•         Practical and clinical skills
•         Thesis skills
•         Attitudes including communication skills
•         Training in research methodology

To get a PG medical seat one must qualify for an entrance exam such as NEET-PG, PGIMER, JIPMER PG, and AIIMS

 PG.

Below are the mentioned courses that one can select as per the specialization:

After your MBBS as a 5.5-year course, you can pursue some of these Super Specializations directly.

The medical field is a diverse field that has a vast range of career options available. Before selecting your field after MBBS one must also take a sigh at various things. You must research while making a decision. Because it is very necessary to choose a branch for which you have passion and curiosity. Because this is a long-run decision that can change your life forever. While researching various branches it is important to find the key differences between them. For MS surgical, expertise and skills are needed. Although, both the fields have a good scope in future. They are equally good but when it comes to financial things surgical specialities are more rewarding. You should also see the scope of the selected branch in the state or country you wish to serve. And as we all know, technology is emerging day by day which will also positively impact the future of the medical industry. It enhances the future of the medical industry with new methods.
Hence, one should choose and get enrolled in the right branch because this is what determines your success in the future contact us for more info.
