NEET counselling process consists of four rounds such as Round 1, Round 2, Mop up round and Stray Vacancy roundrespectively. Below is a brief description of all the rounds to make you aware of the procedure.
Round 1 - This is the very first round of NEET Counselling in which candidates register themselves, do the choice filling and deposit security money. The result of this particular round is released after the completion of the round.
Round 2 - This round is conducted after round 1 subsequently. No further registration is required for candidates who have already applied for Round 1 but have not got any seat allocation. Fresh choice filling and results are declared in this particular round. The candidates who have joined a seat in round 2 of the State quota or AIQ counselling process are not permitted to participate in the subsequent rounds of the counselling process.
Mop-up Round - This round is conducted after the end of round 2. In this round, a fresh registration is required along with the fee payment. A fresh choice filling is done in this stage so as to make an allotment for those who haven’t got any allotment in the previous rounds.
Stray Vacancy Round - This is the last round of the NEET counselling process for the leftover seats in the institutes. It is specially conducted to fill the seats in deemed universities/institutes. The list of registered and qualified candidates is sent by MCC to the appropriate Deemed Universities then an offline process is conducted for the same.
Note: Once any round commences, the rules of that round will apply to all the candidates even if they were allotted/admitted in the previous round(s) of counselling
