NEET PG Counselling 2023


 Congratulations to all the NEET 2023 qualifiers!


The national Eligibility cum Entrance Test PG (NEET-PG) exam is conducted for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses every year. Admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma programmes at various colleges and universities across the country requires an exam to be qualified. Foreign candidates must appear in the exam too to pursue Postgraduate medical courses in India. No other examination rather than NEET PG is valid to take admission to PG courses such as MD/MS/Diploma courses.


After the successful completion of the NEET exam and result declaration, you must be waiting for the NEET 2023 Counselling. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the counselling every year according to the following seat matrix:


  • 50% of All India Quota (AIQ) seats are filled through counselling by the MCC of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS)

  • 100% of Deemed/Central Universities seats are filled through counselling by the MCC of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS)


NEET-PG is an entrance examination for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses for the current academic session which will have the following participation:


  1. 50% All India Quota seats for all States/Union Territories of India.

  2. State quota seats for every State/Union Territory of India.

  3. All the Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities in India

  4. Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.

  5. After MBBS/DNB Courses, Direct 6 years of DrNB Courses and after MBBS, NBEMS Diploma Courses


The following Medical Institutes are not considered for MD/MS seats through exam for the current academic session:


  1. AIIMS, New Delhi and other AIIMS

  2. PGIMER, Chandigarh

  3. JIPMER, Puducherry

  4. NIMHANS, Bengaluru

  5. Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum


No separate entrance for admission to PG courses shall be conducted by any State Government/Private Medical College/University for the session 2023-24.

Information for Candidates


  • Candidates must know that the NBEMS is responsible for only conducting the NEET-PG exam and declaring results while MCC conducts the complete counselling and seat allotment process. NBEMS is not responsible for counselling and allotment of seats.


  • The result of the NEET entrance test has been declared on the official websites which are https://natboard.edu.in and https://nbe.edu.in


  • Candidates should be in touch with the official MCC website for the latest updates like schedules/results/notices/news and events relating to counselling as candidates will not be notified through any medium for the same.


  • The result of NEET 2023 is only valid for the current session for MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses, and it cannot be carried over to the subsequent admission sessions.


  • Candidates scoring less than 50 percentile in the General/EWS category, 40 percentile in SC/ST/OBC category and 45 percentile in General PwD candidates are not considered for admission to any course. Rank has not be awarded to disqualified candidates. The cut offs are mentioned below:

Documents required for PG Admission 2023


Candidates have to be prepared with the following essential documents for PG admission post counselling process:


  1. Allotment Letter issued by MCC

  2. Admit Card issued by NBE

  3. Result/Rank Letter issued by NBE

  4. MBBS/BDS First, Second, and Third Professional Exams Mark Sheets.

  5. MBBS/BDS Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate.

  6. Internship Completion Certificate/Certificate from the head of the Institute/College that the candidate's internship completes by 31st March of the admission year.

  7. A Permanent/Provisional Registration Certificate will go but these must be issued by MCI or DCI/State Medical or Dental Council. A provisional Registration Certificate will be accepted only in chances where a candidate is going through an internship and is probable to complete the same on or before 31st March of the admission year.

  8. High School/Higher Secondary Certificate/Birth Certificate as evidence of the date of birth.

  9. Candidates who got seat allotment must carry one of the identification proofs to the college allotted at the time of admission as mentioned in the information Bulletin published by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for NEET viz. Aadhar Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport or PAN Card.

  10.  The candidates should also carry the following certificates, if applicable:

a) English or Hindi language must be used on the SC/ST Certificate, which must be issued by the appropriate authorities in the format outlined in the Information Bulletin. Sub-caste should be stated in the certificate. The translated certificate must be approved by a Gazetted Officer.

b) EWS Certificate as per the Central Govt. norms in the format specified in the Information Bulletin and should be in English/Hindi language. The translated certificate must be approved by a Gazetted Officer.

c) OBC certificate issued by the competent authority. The Central List of OBC should match the sub-caste. Candidates from OBC should not be from any rich political family. The translated certificate must be approved by a Gazetted Officer.

d) According to the Rights of People with Disability Act 2016 and NMC Norms, a Disability Certificate granted by an authorized Medical Board will be accepted. There will be no consideration for any additional PwD certificates from other authorities or hospitals. The format of the Certificate of Disability is annexed in the Information Bulletin.


Original certificates/documents are mandatory or candidates will not be allowed to take admission in the allotted Medical / Dental College. Candidates who come for admission with a certificate stating that "their original certificates are deposited with the Institute/College/University" will not be allowed to enrol in the selected Medical/Dental College if they have submitted their actual documents with any other Institute/College/University.
